A proud Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda (MGOS) scholar for the year 2023-24. Originally hailing from Bokaro, Jharkhand, he has dedicated his academic and professional journey to making a positive impact in the field of development (social sector).
A Beacon of Hope:
Inspired by Preetam’s commitment, Development Wala is more than just a platform; it’s a beacon of hope, illuminating the path toward a brighter, more equitable future for all. The platform serves as a stage for development professionals.
Currently, he is enrolled at SOAS, University of London, where he is pursuing an MSc in Migration, Mobility, and Development, with a specific focus on labor issues. He considers himself fortunate to be engaged in a diverse and intellectually stimulating academic environment. Prior to this, he completed his master’s degree in MA Development from Azim Premji University, Bangalore. Preetam completed his BSc. in Agriculture, Rural, and Tribal Development from the esteemed Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute in Morabadi, Ranchi. This foundational education provided him with a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by rural and tribal communities.
As a proud founding member of Gramin Bharti Sewa Sanstha (GBSS), a prominent NGO based in Jharkhand, he actively collaborated with diverse civil society organizations. His collective efforts have encompassed a wide range of initiatives, including afforestation projects, farmer’s training programs, impactful street plays, awareness rallies on social issues, fundraising campaigns, and organizing winter camps to support marginalized communities. Through these experiences, he witnessed the transformative power of community engagement and grassroots initiatives.
This fusion of creativity and purpose has allowed him to communicate complex ideas and stories effectively, amplifying the voices of the communities he serves.
He has been driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference and contribute to sustainable development and social change. He believes in the power of collaboration and innovation to address complex societal issues.
