Alumni Interaction Session on Interview Preparation & Career Readiness

The Placement Cell of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Ranchi, successfully organized a special Alumni Interaction Session as part of its Alumni Connect Program for final-year students. The session was designed to support students in preparing for meaningful careers in the development sector, with a focus on the theme โ€œInterview Preparation and Career Readiness.โ€

This initiative reflects the Placement Cellโ€™s continued commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice by connecting students with accomplished alumni who bring valuable real-world insights.

The session featured Kumar Preetam Puri, a distinguished alumnus from the Int. MSc. ARTD 2018 batch and the Founder of Development Wala. He is also the Co-Founder of Gramin Bharti and currently serves as a Career Support & Information Officer at the City & Hackney Carers Centre (CHCC), London. His academic journey spans a BSc in Agriculture, Rural and Tribal Development from RKMVERI, an MA in Development from Azim Premji University, and an MSc in Migration, Mobility and Development from SOAS University of London.

As the Founder of Development Wala, Kumar Preetam Puri delivered an insightful and engaging talk, sharing his expertise on interview preparation, career pathways in the development sector, and the essential skills required to become an effective development professional. Drawing from his diverse academic and professional experiences, he provided practical guidance and inspiration to students aspiring to build impactful careers.

The session emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in shaping studentsโ€™ career aspirations through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and exposure to real-world challenges and opportunities. Such interactions play a vital role in helping students understand the evolving landscape of development work and prepare to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Placement Cell extends its gratitude to Kumar Preetam Puri for his valuable contribution and encourages students to actively participate in similar initiatives. Alumni are also invited to continue collaborating in building a strong ecosystem that fosters mentorship, professional growth, and opportunities for future development professionals.
