About Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI)
The Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) is the leading platform for corporate public affairs professionals in the country. Our members are responsible for public policy initiatives in approximately 110 prominent Indian and international companies. Founded in 2008 as an informal group, PAFI was later established as a not-for-profit society.
PAFI aims to align businesses, society, and the government on long-term priorities, foster trust between industry and stakeholders, support innovative regulations, and develop talent for navigating emerging trends. As a cross-sector networking platform, PAFI offers opportunities for interaction with policymakers, peers, and stakeholders through closed-door dialogues, interactive panel discussions, seminars, and an Annual Lecture and Forum.
About the Role
We are seeking a Public Policy Intern to join our team for a 3-6 month period. This role involves supporting the day-to-day activities of the Secretariat and working closely with the Executive Director and Director. The intern will assist in running PAFI’s sectoral and issue-based councils, organizing events, managing communications, and performing other necessary tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily PAFI initiatives, including sectoral and thematic councils, dialogues, and preparations for the Annual Forum and Annual Lecture.
- Conduct policy research and analysis to support evidence-based positions on key policy interventions.
- Plan and execute events such as workshops, webinars, and conferences to enhance PAFI’s outreach and advocacy efforts.
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree from a reputed university in law, economics, public policy, political science, or related fields, or experience in policy research, communications, journalism, or advocacy.
- 0-2 years of relevant professional experience; fresh graduates or those currently enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s programs are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Ability to present information in a structured and insightful manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work outputs.
- Capability to work in a dynamic environment with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks within assigned turnaround times.
