About the Program
The Learning and Migration Program (LAMP) addresses the challenges faced by children at risk of migration and displacement, offering education and resources to break the cycle of poverty and child labor. Since its inception in 2006, LAMP has benefited 1.59 million children and improved educational conditions in 5,432 villages across 17 states and union territories of India. The program emphasizes STEM education, remedial learning, and the use of locally sourced teaching materials to ensure equitable access to quality education.
About the Project
Aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP), the project aims to elevate teaching and learning standards. It focuses on developing educators’ skills and utilizing local materials to create teaching aids, particularly for foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN). Additionally, the project will establish maker spaces in rural Hazaribag schools to enhance STEM education using principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Education Facilitator will enhance students’ learning experiences through guidance, resources, and support services. Responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and group instructional support, tutoring, and academic advising.
- Managing the Learning Resource Center’s collection of educational materials.
- Assisting students in accessing physical and digital learning resources.
- Organizing educational events, workshops, and seminars.
- Staying updated with educational trends and technologies to improve support services.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs and making improvement recommendations.
- Collaborating with faculty to integrate technology and multimedia into the curriculum.
- Supporting students with disabilities or special needs to ensure equal access to resources.
- Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and program outcomes.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field (Master’s degree and B.Ed./D. El. Ed. preferred).
- Experience in teaching or working in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with the education landscape in Jharkhand.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating training programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of educational theories, learning styles, and instructional strategies.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
