DESCRIPTION:Alumni Interaction Session on Interview Preparation & Career Readiness \nThe Placement Cell of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI)\, Ranchi\, successfully organized a special Alumni Interaction Session as part of its Alumni Connect Program for final-year students. The session was designed to support students in preparing for meaningful careers in the development sector\, with a focus on the theme “Interview Preparation and Career Readiness.” \nThis initiative reflects the Placement Cell’s continued commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice by connecting students with accomplished alumni who bring valuable real-world insights. \nThe session featured Kumar Preetam Puri\, a distinguished alumnus from the Int. MSc. ARTD 2018 batch and the Founder of Development Wala. He is also the Co-Founder of Gramin Bharti and currently serves as a Career Support & Information Officer at the City & Hackney Carers Centre (CHCC)\, London. His academic journey spans a BSc in Agriculture\, Rural and Tribal Development from RKMVERI\, an MA in Development from Azim Premji University\, and an MSc in Migration\, Mobility and Development from SOAS University of London. \nAs the Founder of Development Wala\, Kumar Preetam Puri delivered an insightful and engaging talk\, sharing his expertise on interview preparation\, career pathways in the development sector\, and the essential skills required to become an effective development professional. Drawing from his diverse academic and professional experiences\, he provided practical guidance and inspiration to students aspiring to build impactful careers. \nThe session emphasized the importance of alumni engagement in shaping students’ career aspirations through mentorship\, knowledge sharing\, and exposure to real-world challenges and opportunities. Such interactions play a vital role in helping students understand the evolving landscape of development work and prepare to contribute meaningfully to society. \nThe Placement Cell extends its gratitude to Kumar Preetam Puri for his valuable contribution and encourages students to actively participate in similar initiatives. DESCRIPTION:𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐒𝐑𝐋𝐌𝐬) – 𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬-𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 \nMaybe for the first time in India\, students from Livelihoods- Rural Development\, TISS Hyderabad and TISS Guwahati-Placement Cell came together in a shared virtual space to directly engage with practitioners from leading State Rural Livelihoods Missions (SRLMs). \nHosted by Development Wala\, this roundtable created a powerful dialogue between academia and field realities. \nWe were honoured to host Speakers from: \nMuskan Rai\, Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (NRO) \nDipshikha Singh\, JEEVIKA\, Rural Development Department\, Government of Bihar \nKailash Kumar\, Jharkhand State Livelihoods Promotion Society \nPriti Das\, Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika)\, MoRD\, GoR \nThe session brought deep insights on: \n• Women-led livelihood movements\n• Institutional strengthening and SHG federations\n• Innovations across state missions\n• Ground-level challenges and adaptive leadership\n• Career pathways within SRLM ecosystems \nThe exchange was honest\, reflective\, and deeply rooted in practice.
